Returns & Refunds Policy

At Mughal Arts, each item is handcrafted with care. Because many of our products are handmade and may include slight variations, we request that you read this policy carefully before placing your order.
UK/EU Right to Cancel (Ready to Ship items)
If you’re ordering from the UK or EU, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it, for any reason, without needing to justify it. To cancel, email us at info@mughalarts.com within that window. You’ll then need to send the item back to us within 14 days of telling us, in its original condition and packaging where possible. We’ll refund your payment, including standard delivery cost, within 14 days of receiving the returned item — return postage is your responsibility unless the item arrived damaged or faulty.
Made to Order Items
Because these are handcrafted specifically for you after you order, they’re exempt from the 14-day cancellation right under UK/EU law (bespoke/personalised goods exemption). This is stated on the product page before you buy. If you’d like to cancel a Made to Order piece before we’ve started painting it, contact us — we’ll do our best to accommodate, but can’t guarantee it once work has begun.
Returns
We accept return requests only for items that arrive damaged, defective, or incorrect. To be eligible, you must contact us within 48 hours of delivery and share your order number, clear photos of the item, and photos of the packaging.
To qualify for a return, the item must be unused and in the same condition in which you received it, with original packaging included wherever possible.
We do not accept returns for:
- Items damaged due to misuse, improper handling, or normal wear.
- Handmade variations in color, texture, finish, or pattern that are part of the artisanal nature of the product.
- Customized, personalized, or made-to-order items (see the Made to Order note above for your separate 14-day rights where they apply).
- Orders refused at delivery without prior approval.
- Sale or clearance items, unless received damaged or incorrect.
Refunds
Once your return request is reviewed and approved, we will notify you by email. If your refund is approved, it will be processed to your original method of payment within 7 to 14 business days after the returned item is received and inspected.
Shipping charges, customs duties, taxes, and any handling fees are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error, such as a damaged, defective, or incorrect item.
Exchanges
We only replace items if they are defective, damaged in transit, or if you received the wrong item. If you need an exchange, contact us with your order details and product photos within 48 hours of delivery.
Cancellations
Orders may be cancelled only before dispatch. Once an order has been shipped, it cannot be cancelled and will fall under this returns policy. A currency conversion fee may apply for cancellation for International Orders.
Non-Delivery / Lost Packages
If your order is delayed, lost in transit, or marked delivered but not received, please contact us promptly. We will work with the shipping carrier to investigate the issue and guide you on the next steps.
How to Request a Return
Email us at info@mughalarts.com with:
- Your order number.
- A description of the issue.
- Clear photos of the product.
- Clear photos of the outer packaging and shipping label.
We will review your request and respond with approval or next steps.
Return Shipping
If the return is approved because the item was damaged, defective, or incorrect, we will provide return instructions. In all other approved cases, the customer may be responsible for return shipping costs.
