Mughal Art Papier-Mâché Box – Hand-Painted Miniature Figures, Kashmir

Mughal Art Papier-Mâché Box – Hand-Painted Miniature Figures, Kashmir

This hand-crafted Mughal miniature papier mache box features fine monochrome Mughal miniature artwork of figures in a garden on a cream finish. Every piece is shaped from paper pulp, hand-painted and finished with lacquer by master artisans of Srinagar, so no two boxes are exactly alike.

Painted in a single tone, the figures rely on line and shading alone, a refined style that shows off the painter’s skill. Our naqash paint each Mughal miniature papier mache box freehand with fine brushes, then seal it with lacquer for a soft, lasting shine.
